consultation about your options

A clearer way forward

You should not be the one getting every insurer on the same page.

Your driver’s insurer may point to Uber or Lyft. The rideshare insurer may question whether the trip had started. Another driver may deny causing the crash. Our job is to investigate those positions and move your claim forward.

Put the claim in our hands

One team to handle the calls, records, and negotiations.

We identify the insurance companies, review coverage decisions, and respond to requests for statements and documents. We explain what is happening and what needs your input, so you are not left chasing an answer on your own.

You do not have to name the right insurance company before you call. Start with what happened and what is hardest right now.

Find what the app does not tell you

We seek trip-status records, policy information, and available crash evidence to identify who may be responsible and which coverage may apply. If an impaired driver caused the collision, our Orlando drunk-driving accident team can review the injury claim alongside the rideshare coverage questions.

Make the injury’s full impact count

We connect medical records, missed income, and future care needs to the claim. Then we negotiate with evidence behind the amount we seek.

The part an insurance file can miss

It was supposed to be a simple ride.

Getting home from work. Meeting friends for dinner. Catching a flight. Now even a short ride can bring back the crash.

Tell us about the appointments, missed shifts, interrupted sleep, or help you now need at home. Those details help us understand the loss and document what has changed.

We also assess whether Florida’s injury threshold applies to a claim for pain and suffering.

The insurance question

The driver’s app status can change the available coverage.

The key is what the driver was doing at the moment of the crash. We compare the trip records with the policies instead of relying on an adjuster’s first explanation.

App off

Personal coverage

The driver’s personal policy is usually the starting point. Rideshare coverage generally does not apply just because the car is sometimes used for Uber or Lyft.

Online, waiting for a request

Separate minimum limits

Florida requires at least $50,000 in bodily injury liability coverage per person, $100,000 per incident, and $25,000 for property damage during this period.

Accepted a ride or carrying a rider

At least $1 million

The required combined liability coverage begins when a requested ride is accepted and continues until the last rider exits and no longer occupies the vehicle.

A policy limit is not a promised payment. Fault, covered losses, policy terms, and other people’s claims affect what may be available. We also check the other driver’s insurance and any applicable uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage.

From the first conversation onward

You should know what happens next.

We begin by listening. If you hire us, we organize the claim around the evidence, your treatment, and the decisions ahead.

Some steps overlap. The pace depends on your recovery, the information available, and the insurers’ responses.

No perfect paperwork required.

A date, location, and a few details are enough to start the conversation. If you have a trip receipt or an insurance letter, keep it handy.

Your first call

Get an explanation of your options.

Tell us whether you were a passenger, driving, or struck by a rideshare vehicle. We discuss the urgent questions and explain whether we can help.

Opening the case

Protect records and put insurers on notice.

We seek relevant trip data and available video, investigate the crash, and identify deadlines and possible sources of coverage.

As your recovery develops

Build a picture of what the injury will cost.

We gather treatment and employment records and assess future needs. We keep you involved without asking you to manage the legal work.

When it is time to decide

Know what an offer would close.

We explain the amount, deductions, and release terms before you decide. When negotiation does not resolve the case fairly, we discuss litigation and prepare accordingly.

Airport rides, hotel pickups, and the trip home

At an Orlando pickup, a few minutes can matter.

A collision on the way to collect a passenger raises different coverage questions from a crash while the driver is waiting for a request. A curbside injury may also turn on whether the passenger had finished getting out.

MCO’s pickup information distinguishes Terminal A and B arrivals from Terminal C. Tell us the terminal, pickup area, and where you were in relation to the vehicle. We can use those details to locate potential evidence and compare the physical events with the trip record.
If you were hurt while walking near a pickup area, our Orlando pedestrian accident lawyers can also evaluate the driver’s conduct and conditions at the scene.

A small task that may help

Keep the trip details. Let us work on the harder-to-get records.

Medical care comes first. If you can safely save a few items, start here. Missing a screenshot does not mean you cannot call.

What you may already have

The ride receipt, booking confirmation, and messages in the app.

The driver’s name, vehicle details, and any photographs.

A crash-report number, insurance letters, and medical paperwork.

What we can seek for the case

Trip-status information and the applicable insurance policies.

Available dashcam or nearby video and witness accounts.

Medical, wage, and other records supporting the losses.

Practical answers

The questions behind the insurance calls.

For passengers, rideshare drivers, and people hit by an Uber or Lyft vehicle.

Not necessarily. A claim under a rideshare insurance policy and a lawsuit against the rideshare company are different issues. We investigate who caused the injury, identify the applicable policies, and assess whether the facts support a claim against the company or another party.

Yes. We can investigate the other driver’s responsibility and review available insurance. If that driver has no insurance or too little coverage, we check for applicable uninsured or underinsured motorist benefits. Being a rideshare passenger does not automatically establish which policy will pay.

Keep the booking confirmation, receipt, driver information, and messages in the account used to arrange the trip. The injured rider may have a claim even though someone else made the booking. We can connect those records with the rider’s account and medical evidence.

That depends on your insurance and circumstances. We review any applicable personal injury protection (PIP), health coverage, and other benefits. For Florida PIP medical benefits, initial qualifying care must generally occur within 14 days of the crash; other coverage requirements and limits apply. Do not wait for a fault decision to seek needed care. Florida’s PIP law.

Yes. Tell us which app was active, whether you had accepted a request, and whether a passenger was in the car. We can review a claim against another responsible driver and examine your policies, endorsements, and potential benefits. Coverage for your injuries and damage to your vehicle must be checked separately.

Early advice can help with coverage questions, evidence, and requests from insurers. Florida generally allows two years to file a negligence lawsuit, but the crash date, claim type, and any exceptions must be checked. Insurance notices and evidence can require attention sooner. Florida Statutes § 95.11.
